Theme music #2 for Mandelbrot music program (32 Bits version) (1999)

I would like to tell you two major points modified in the new version.

1.Hindu and Arabic temperaments

Recentely I met a person, who was a student of ethnic scales, on the NiftyServe. He told me much about the temperament of Hindu music and Arabic music. I completely understood what you had written me before and adopted what I learned to the new version.
So, many of the Arabic scales of the new version depend on your information. Thank you very much for your information.

2.Xenakis-Rate

A newly added function is xr(Xenakis-Rate). The idea resulted from SaRiGaMa jam-session.
At the beginnig of May I was invited to join a jam-session of SaRiGaMa oil bending orchestra, an ethnic-music improvisation group. I joined the jam-session in May. It was an interactive play between human players and a personal computer. In the conversation after the jam, one participant proposed to me that the rhythm of Mandelbrot music should be more flexible. I took that idea and added xr function to my program.

You can find new parameter-entry in the middle of the lower part on the main dialog box ( xr = ). The first parameter is the number of beats to synchronize.
The second parameter is the percentage of tempo rubato.
The propotion of rubato is decided by iteration value and the beat accord with the number of beats compulsory.
You can generate very complicated rhythm by setting large number to the two parameters (such as 8 beat and 40%). So I named them “Xenakis-Rate”.

I think these parameters are very effective and can formulate new Mandelbrot music.

“Auld Lang Syne” with Mandelbrot chord procession (1997)

This arragement was made by using Mandel32.exe’s new function (chord procession). It was a presantation for the collaboration to arrange “Auld Lang Syne” in FMIDICLA. Enjoy mandelbrot’s strange arrangement.

Mandelbrot Sho (1997 & 2008)

Sho is a Japanese Gagaku instrument. Its tune is very complex and interesting. This scale simulates its tune.
